Boonooroo

We recently visited Boonooroo which is located on the shores of the Great Sandy Strait, with views to Fraser Island.  Boonooroo is a great place to see waders, one of the few places where you can drive down the road to the waters edge, hop out of the car, and see all the waders up close.
 Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus)
Red-kneed Dotterel (Erythrogonys cinctus)
Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica)

 Australian Pied Oystercatcher (Haematopus longirostris)
and other waders.

Wow! You really did see a great variety of shorebirds! It's great to see more than one kind in a photo so that comparative size can be seen. Great photos!

Just the place name is worthy of a post on the WBW .... Boonooroo, love it.

Great set of waders you show, I especially like the "new to me" Red Kneed Dotterels
